Meta description: Learn how to make a matching blue flower beaded necklace and bracelet with crystal beads and gold findings in this beginner-friendly jewelry tutorial.
Small flower beads can turn a simple strand into a beautiful handmade jewelry set. This blue floral necklace and matching bracelet combine deep-blue flowers, pale-blue crystal beads and warm gold details. The finished pieces look delicate and elegant, but the repeated pattern makes the project easy to organize.
This tutorial explains how to recreate the look using ready-made flower beads. If you prefer to weave each flower yourself, you can replace every flower bead with a small five-petal seed-bead motif.
Materials
- Deep-blue five-petal flower beads
- Pale-blue faceted crystal beads
- Tiny gold spacer beads
- Small gold center beads, if the flowers do not already have centers
- Strong beading wire, approximately 0.38–0.45 mm
- Two gold lobster clasps
- Two gold extender chains
- Four crimp beads or crimp tubes
- Four small jump rings
- Crimping pliers
- Flat-nose pliers
- Wire cutters
- Measuring tape
- Bead stopper or removable tape
Choose beads with holes large enough for your wire. Lay out the entire pattern before stringing so you can check the colors and spacing.
Recommended Sizes
For the necklace, aim for approximately 40–45 cm before adding the extender chain. For the bracelet, measure your wrist and add about 1.5–2 cm for comfort. A common finished bracelet length is 17–19 cm.
The extender chains make both pieces adjustable, so the fit does not need to be exact.
Step 1: Plan the Repeating Pattern
Arrange the beads on a bead mat. A simple sequence is:
Blue flower → tiny gold spacer → pale-blue crystal → tiny gold spacer → blue flower
Repeat this sequence around both pieces. Keeping the same order creates a balanced, professional finish.
If your flower beads have an empty center, place a tiny gold bead in the middle or select a flower component with a built-in gold center.
Step 2: Make the Necklace
Cut a length of beading wire about 15 cm longer than your intended necklace. Secure one end with a bead stopper.
Thread the first deep-blue flower bead, followed by a gold spacer, a pale-blue crystal bead and another gold spacer. Add the next flower and continue repeating the pattern.
Stop occasionally and lay the strand flat. Make sure every flower faces the same direction and that the crystals are evenly distributed. Continue until the beaded portion reaches the required length.
Step 3: Attach the Necklace Clasp
Remove the bead stopper. Thread one end of the wire through a crimp bead and a jump ring attached to the lobster clasp. Pass the wire back through the crimp and through two or three nearby beads.
Pull gently until no large gap remains, but leave enough flexibility for the necklace to curve naturally. Compress the crimp securely with crimping pliers, then trim the excess wire.
Repeat on the opposite end, attaching the gold extender chain instead of the clasp.
Step 4: Make the Matching Bracelet
Measure your wrist and cut another piece of wire with approximately 12 cm of extra working length.
Follow exactly the same flower, spacer and crystal sequence used for the necklace. Before attaching the clasp, wrap the strand loosely around your wrist to check the fit. It should move comfortably without sliding over your hand.
Attach the lobster clasp and extender chain using crimp beads, just as you did for the necklace.
Step 5: Check the Finished Set
Lay the necklace and bracelet flat. Check that the flower beads face upward, the spacers are consistent and the clasps close smoothly. Gently pull near each crimp to confirm that the wire is secure.
Avoid making the wire too tight. A small amount of movement between the beads helps both pieces sit naturally and prevents unnecessary pressure on the wire.
Optional: Make Five-Petal Flowers from Seed Beads
To create each flower manually, thread five blue seed beads and pass the needle through the first bead again to form a ring. Add a tiny gold bead for the center, then pass the thread through the opposite side of the flower. Secure the motif before connecting it to the main strand.
Handwoven flowers take more time, but they give the jewelry a distinctive artisanal appearance.
Beginner Tips
- Work on a soft bead mat so the crystals do not roll away.
- Count your beads before starting to ensure you have enough for both pieces.
- Photograph the planned sequence so you can refer to it while stringing.
- Use the same metal color for the clasps, spacers, jump rings and extender chains.
- Do not use ordinary sewing thread for the main strand; beading wire is more durable.
- Keep the jewelry away from water, perfume and household chemicals.
Color Ideas
Royal blue and pale blue create a fresh, elegant combination. You can also adapt the pattern using white flowers with clear crystals, red flowers with champagne beads or lavender flowers with silver findings.
For a softer spring style, combine pastel flowers with pearl spacers. For an evening look, use dark-blue flowers, clear crystals and richer gold accents.
Final Result
The completed necklace and bracelet form a coordinated floral jewelry set that works beautifully as a handmade gift. The repeating design is approachable for beginners, while the blue flowers and sparkling crystals give the finished pieces a polished appearance.
